Seadot Secures Accreditation As Kantara Assessor

Extends Kantara´s Assurance Program Across Europe
WAKEFIELD, Mass., USA – April 24, 2019 — Kantara Initiative, the only industry organization focused on 3rd party assessed digital identity and privacy assurance frameworks, announced today that Seadot AB was approved to perform Kantara Assessments across Europe and worldwide.  Seadot AB and Seadot Cybersecurity AB are Europe-based consultancies focused on Information Security Management, Risk Management and Cybersecurity.
As an Accredited Assessor, Seadot plays a critical role in assessing a company’s digital service or solution against a particular Class of Approval to earn a Trust Mark which is evidence of conformance.  Kantara’s Trust Framework currently has four Classes of Approval.
“A Kantara assessment demonstrates an organization’s compliance to a recognized assurance framework.  It is essential for testing digital identity and privacy initiatives,” said Björn Sjöholm, CEO, Seadot AB. “Using a third party assessment is the best way for an organization to measure its security as it is not feasible for a company to measure its security and secure a Trust Mark using internal resources alone.”
Kantara is the only organization that provides third party assessment against the primary National Institute of Standards and Technology standard for identity. Kantara actively works with governments and standards bodies internationally to align this program for multi-jurisdictional adoption.
About Kantara Assessors Accreditation
Kantara’s Identity Assurance Framework (IAF) with its Accredited Assessor and Approved Service Provider Services apply to standards-based schemes.  Kantara has been an authorized US Government Trust Framework Provider since 2011. The Classes of Approval operating under the IAF specify the verification and proofing checks that Credential Service Providers (CSPs) carry out on entities, the way that CSPs run their services, and how the CSP’s services are subjected to rigorous assessment by independent third parties — Kantara´s Accredited Assessors —  following the IAF’s defined processes and using published and peer-reviewed Service Assessment Criteria.
A Kantara Accredited Assessor is an entity that has demonstrated to the Kantara Assurance Review Board that it meets the required knowledge and skill qualifications set by the IAF necessary to reliably perform assessments of Credential Service Providers on the behalf of Kantara Initiative.  For more information or to apply, please visit Assessor Accreditation
