Airside Mobile
Throughout 2021, in addition to my ongoing participation in working group activities, I have been working with partners and customers to promote the Kantara Assurance program. I have been a proud evangelist of Kantara for most of its existence, as well as its predecessor organization Liberty Alliance Project. I look forward to continuing to further the organizations objectives, in particular, furthering industry adoption of assurance, consent frameworks, and overall adoption and recognition of Kantara to a wider audience.
Biographical Information:
Mr. Davis is a distinguished leader in building identity management technology with integrity for over 20 years. His first-hand experience started with classical B2B applications, like extranets, then progressed to federated identity management applications, such as those enabled by Kantara Initiative (formerly Liberty Alliance), OAuth and SAML2.
Throughout his career, Mr. Davis has focused his work on standards and public policy, resulting in several published papers related to the application of authentication and authorization mechanisms on linked data, including privacy and security white papers and other advisory documents for Neustar, the Respect Network, Kantara, Liberty Alliance, and OASIS. He also served as co-chair for the Technical Working Group for the Digital Entertainment Content Ecosystem, LLC (DECE, UltraViolet).
While with the Liberty Alliance, and in conjunction with his involvement in their Public Policy Expert Group (PPEG), Mr. Davis assisted in providing guidance to the EU Article 29 committee work and contributed to its ID-WSF/ID-FF standards. His contributions within the DECE Technical Working Group include portions of the underlying REST protocol design, the message security architecture, and the incorporation of existing security and identity standards, such as federation and delegation topologies, into the DECE specifications. He has also ensured that applicable privacy requirements and practices have become an integral part of the DECE architecture, in general, and DECE’s Coordinator architecture, in particular.
Mr. Davis’ work at Airside makes him the heart of our “Privacy First. Human Always.” motto. Airside has great respect for Kantara Initiative’s efforts to establish standards and recommendations that are user-centric, consent-driven, and ultimately, built on trust. Airside became a member of Kantara Initiative years ago to help establish an architecture where a clear, unambiguous information exchange can take place, using a standards-based approach. Airside makes use of the Consent Receipt specification today, and has plans to add UMA support and Trust Framework certification in the near future.
