2. What is your current market focus and what needs and areas of concern does your service/product address?
Experian solutions provide identity verification, data enrichment and eligibility support services.  Current market forces we observe include improving program integrity & fraud prevention and the digitization of government services and citizen enablement.  An evolving market driver is the development of a centralized citizen ID as a shared service across agencies and programs; Experian solutions provide a wide range of support to government programs and agencies.
3. In what ways does your service/product push beyond the state-of- the- art?
Experian has pioneered several particularly critical areas with respect to identity fraud prevention and detection.  Our ID verification platform leverages our own Experian identity services and enables alternative data provider partners through our ID services hub (CrossCore).  Our partner services enable extended data validation techniques such as biometrics, email and behavioral methods.  When coupled with Experian’s own services, the CrossCore hub provides a comprehensive identity verification and resolution offering.
4. Where do you see the market trending in the mid/long term and how do you see your product/service playing into it?
Alternative data and biometrics will continue to be a growing factor in the market.  The Experian CrossCore ID hub is ideally positioned to leverage new methods and entrants into the ID verification ecosystem.  Additionally, Experian is continually working on more recently established technologies like AI and machine learning.  We have newly announced the availability of our machine learning (ML) capability for CrossCore.  ML will further refine the use of alternative data and methods allowing clients to improve fraud preventions by synthesizing multiple decision results into a single decision, as well as, protect against obsolescence all while improving the citizen experience with reduces false positives.
5. Why were you motivated to join Kantara Initiative and how do you see it helping your organization specifically, and the digital economy as a whole?
Experian sought a leader in the market which best aligned with our own principles regarding the sensitive data we manage and the enablement of secure, digital commerce.  Kantara’s focus on instilling confidence in citizens to conduct transactions in the digital economy was a primary attraction for us.
6. What other significant aspects about your organization (service/product) should our global community know about?
Experian draws on extensive practical experience in the marketplace.  Our team is an outstanding service and solution provider.  However, Experian also has a world-class consulting organization which can be leveraged by our clients to develop any phase of an identity management program.  Additionally, Experian has a dedicated client facing research team, Experian Data Labs.  Experian Data Labs does field based research with clients and contributes to the development of new products by working with client data and data science teams.  A great example of this work is our Synthetic Identity Suite solution which evolved from client facing work.
