Blinding Identity Taxonomy Discussion Group (BIT DG)

The BIT DG has formally launched.  To participate, please complete Kantara’s GPA.   The purpose of the Blinding Identity Taxonomy (BIT) Discussion Group is to evolve and maintain the BIT as an informative taxonomy for identifying and managing personally identifiable information (PII) and quasi-identifiable information (QII). BIT is not intended to prescribe requirements; rather, it serves as an informative tool to:
  • Support privacy-preserving data handling.
  • Provide a clear structure for categorizing identity-related data fields.
  • Enable use cases such as filtering data unsuitable for AI training.
The BIT DG objective is to establish the BIT as a Kantara product by producing a Blinding Identity Taxonomy Report 2.0 and a BIT Supplementary Report 2.0.
