 Good points.

1 - PPEG did previously have slight contact with Abbie, but
somehow the ITU-T workshops always seemed to co-incide with
thinkgs which took PPEG elsewhere. Entirely co-incidental, but it
didn't help us find a common area of work. Fine to approach ITU-T
with an invitation to join P3WG.

2 - PPEG also had a good working relationship with the Ontario
Privacy Commission - and they were supportive of the P3WG charter
but constrained in their ability to devote someone to it. Again,
involvement of Canadian participants would be most welcome.
Canadian interests often form a very useful 'bridge' because of
the close links with both the USA and the UK/Aus/NZ community.

Thank you - your help in reaching out to the right people here is
much appreciated. Let me know if I can do anything to help you
persuade the people you contact.

I am not sure if anyone knows Abbie Barbir, but we have worked
together a few times, he chairs a few ITU-T identity management
groups and he is also in Ottawa. Would anyone object to me
asking him to participate?

I think you recommendation about engaging Canada is quite
apt. From a US perspective, given the number of people who
cross the border with the US' largest trading partner on a
daily basis, I think that harmonization with Canada would
prove of great value. Furthermore, the ability of Canadians
to participate in what are currently US-centric meetings is
enhanced by their proximity and similar time zones.

Is there a document initiative for mapping these gaps between
governments? Perhaps, first to map the gap between the UK,
US, to set the tone and pace, then to continue on by country.
This would be an extremely helpful document and a good basis
  for industry/gov related research.
In addition, I am currently hunting some participation in the
Canadian Government as I have contacts there and am from
Ottawa (the capital). Is there anyone else focusing here?
