The ongoing discussion concerning a national patient identifier (NPI) has recently taken a new turn. The critical role of an NPI in promoting interoperability is now commonly acknowledged. There are discussions about how to re-engage the federal discussion on this topic.
The existence of an NPI would have dramatic impacts on related issues such as the quality of medical care, medical privacy, patient empowerment and the ability to create a longitudinal medical record.
Our panelists are:
- Russ Branzell, CEO and President, CHIME
- Barry Hieb, M.D. Chief Scientist, GPII
- Thomas Sullivan, M.D., Chief Strategic Officer, Dr. First & Chair, Healthcare Industry Committee, Identity Ecosystem
Join us at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016 in rooms Toscana 3704, 3710 in the Convention Center for a panel discussion exploring many of the issues surrounding the creation of an NPI.”
