The purpose of the UMA Work Group (charter) is to develop specs that let an individual control the authorization of data sharing and service access made between online services on the individual's behalf, and to facilitate interoperable implementations of the specs. Read the spec, join the group, get involved!

  • August 12: The introduction to the UMA FAQ now summarizes various notable external sources of UMA information and opinion. If you're aware of others we've missed, tweet us to let us know.
  • July 27: The Fraunhofer implementation doc (V0.8) now has Help for Developers – check it out on the Implementations page!
  • July 9: The Fraunhofer AISEC team has made its Java-based UMA implementation available through open source! Our Implementations page has all the links you need, for this project and others. Check out the Fraunhofer documentation linked from that page for a nice screen-by-screen demo of how it all works.
  • June 30: There's a new tutorial available for using the Python-based PUMA library to create an UMA requester application. It's a great addition to the existing tutorial for creating an UMA host application.
