New leadership for Kantara Initiative Japan Work Group
Congratulations to Yamada Tatsushi who will serve as the new Japan WG Chair.
The focus of the Japan WG is to promote the education and adoption of Kantara Initiative deliverables in the Japanese market and government. The Japan WG also generate best practice guidelines, suggestions and technical recommendations that feed into appropriate Kantara Initiative Work Groups (WGs) to make Kantara Initiative deliverables better suited to thrive in the Japanese market environment.
Yamada is Manager of R&D Head Quarters working at NTT DATA for 22 years. He created and operated NTT DATA’s internal identity management infrastructure for 8 years and served as product manager of VANADIS Identity Manager/VANADIS SSO product line. Yamada has a bachelor’s degree in urban planning from the University of Tokyo 1988.

Kantara Initiative Tech Seminar, Dec. 14, 2010, Tokyo, Japan
Kantara Initiative Japan Work Group (Japan WG) will host a technical seminar on Tuesday, December 14 in Tokyo, courtesy of CA Technologies Japan and other members.

Abstract: Cloud computing has focused renewed attention on “identity federation technologies” as an important part of IT security measures. This seminar will feature a practical lecture on identity federation by “GakuNin” an academic authentication federation project, and look at another case study of identity federation around egovernment area.

Kantara Initiative Symposium 2010, September 1, 2010, Tokyo, Japan
Thanks to Kantara Initiative’s Japan WG and their leadership, the Kantara Initiative Symposium 2010 in Japan is being held September 1, 2010, 13:00-18:00.
The workshop covers identity trust inclinations, identity control bases applied to numerous global governments, etc. Kantara Initiative’s President, Matthew Gardiner will report on the latest industry activity and identity case studies.
