Registration open for Kantara & OpenID Summit, July 19

We invite you to join us for our the Kantara & OpenID Summit, July 19.  Kantara Initiative and the OpenID Foundation are organizations dedicated to providing platforms and resources for the growth and enrichment of the identity landscape.

This Summit will contain presentations and panels from diverse market leaders discussing industry efforts focussed on protocols such as OpenID and UMA and their use in the Enterprise. Learn about current progress and new community efforts from both organizations.

Kantara announces NSTIC Discussion Group formation

Kantara Initiative is pleased to announce the formation of the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace Discussion Group (NSTIC DG) which will author the Kantara Initiative response to the recent NSTIC Notice of Inquiry (NOI) [1] as its first order of business. To provide a comprehensive multi-stakeholder response, it is anticipated that this DG will be comprised of representatives from communities including: international, industry, governance, analyst, user-centric, consumer, public policy and privacy.

Schedule:
Due to the NSTIC NOI due date of July 22 the NSTIC DG will seek to kick of this week on Thursday or Friday (June 23rd or 24th). Times will be circulated to the dg-nstic@kantarainitiative.org list tomorrow. Ultimately, this group would seek to regularly meet regularly on Tuesdays.  Stay tuned to the groups calendar for the schedule.

The purpose of the NSTIC discussion group is to provide a centralized Kantara Initiative Discussion Group to facilitate:

  • feedback to Notices of Inquiry and/or comment periods
  • planning of NSTIC focused workshops or event sessions and speakers
  • possible development of position papers

Spotlight on John Bradley

John is a Identity Domain expert in the Alexandria, VA office of Protiviti Government Services. He also serves as Kantara’s Leadership Council Co-chair & Federation Interoperability Work Group Chair.  John has been active with Kantara since it’s inception.

As an experienced IT professional with a diverse background, John has been co-authoring the ICAM protocol profiles at Protiviti Government Services.  He has also been coordinating interoperability testing on the profiles with OASIS and Trust Framework partners from industry.  John has contributed to SAML, openID, Information Card (IMI), XRI and other identity standards.  He is actively working to develop the next version of openID.
