Richard,
Agreed. I'm choosing to interpret the statement as meaning, "the IAWG
hereby takes the position that KI will try to ensure continued alignment
between ISO/IEC 29115 and the IAF by: .." Said more briefly another way,
"the IAWG hereby resolves to promote consistency between ISO/IEC 29115 and
the IAF by: ." We could come up with a better-worded alternative if there
is enough support for withdrawing and resubmitting the motion.

Ben,
I have no concerns about the word "intent", my problem was (as Jeff put in
his point 4.) I could not get my brain around the grammar as proposed so
reverted to what I thought was discussed on the call.
If you can explain what is meant by "... that KI's policy ... be with the
intent to ensure ...", I'll happily support an 'intent'!
Confusedly yours
Richard

Richard,
It appears you have concerns about the weakness of the word "intent" and
would like it to read "policy." I don't know much about Kantara
policy-setting policy, but I'd assume it is easier to obtain approval of the
language as drafted, regardless of what may have been discussed during last
week's call about the IAWG's proposal that decisions be communicated as
Kantara policy. So, I am inclined to vote in favor of the proposal so that
we can move forward.
I cast my ballot as follows regarding the proposed motion as:
____X_____ Yes
_________ No
_________ Abstain
Sincerely yours,
Ben
